Our faith

We believe

Our creed is a summary of our beliefs in 14 points, with biblical basis.

  1. In one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; Mark 12:29
  2. In the verbal inspiration of the Holy Bible, the only infallible rule of faith for Christian life and character. 2 Tim 3:14-17
  3. In the virgin birth of Jesus, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection from the dead and His victorious ascension into heaven. Isa 7:14; Rom 8:34; Acts 1:9
  4. In the sinfulness of man, which deprived him of the glory of God, and that only repentance and faith in the atoning and redeeming work of Jesus Christ can restore him to God. Rom 3:23; Acts 3:19
  5. In the absolute necessity of the new birth through faith in Christ and by the working power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, to make man worthy of the Kingdom of God. John 3:3-8
  6. In the forgiveness of sins, in present and perfect salvation and in the eternal justification of the soul, freely received from God through faith in the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on our behalf. Acts 10:43; Rom 10:13; Rom 3:24-26; Heb 7:25
  7. In biblical baptism by full immersion in water, once only, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ. Matt 28:19; Rom 6:1-4; Col 2:12
  8. In the necessity and the possibility of living a holy life through the atoning and redeeming work of Jesus at Calvary, by the regenerating, inspiring and sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, who enables us to live as faithful witnesses of the power of Christ. Heb 9:14; 1 Pet 1:15
  9. In the biblical baptism in the Holy Spirit, given to us by God through the intercession of Christ, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues, according to His will. Acts 1:5; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-7
  10. In the present-day reality of the spiritual gifts, distributed by the Holy Spirit to the Church for its edification, according to His sovereign will. 1 Cor 12:1-12
  11. In the premillennial Second Coming of Christ, in two distinct phases: the first, invisible to the world, to catch up His faithful Church from the earth before the Great Tribulation; the second, bodily, with His glorified Church, to reign over the world for a thousand years. 1 Thess 4:16-17; 1 Cor 15:51-54; Rev 20:4; Zech 14:5; Jude 14
  12. That all Christians will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, to receive the reward for their deeds in favour of the cause of Christ on earth. 2 Cor 5:10
  13. In the coming judgment, which will reward the faithful and condemn the unfaithful. Rev 20:11-15
  14. And in eternal life of joy and happiness for the faithful, and of sorrow and torment for the unfaithful. Matt 25:46
